Embarcadero Introduces Starter Editions of C++Builder and Delphi Rapid Application Development Environments

Embarcadero Technologies, a leading provider of multi-platform database tools and developer software, today introduced Starter editions of C++Builder and Delphi, its popular rapid application development (RAD) frameworks. These new entry-level versions give independent developers, students and micro businesses low-cost access to award-winning software development tools so they can kick-start their application development efforts.

Delphi is based on the Object Pascal programming language and is one of the most widely used programming languages and development environments in the world. Delphi is well-known for helping millions of users rapidly build native Windows desktop, database, multi-tier and touch applications. Like Delphi Starter, C++Builder Starter is an entry-level RAD environment, but aimed at C/C++ developers.

C++Builder and Delphi Starter editions offer users core IDE components including a 32-bit native code compiler, debugger and visual component library (VCL) with drag-and-drop visual development to rapidly build Windows applications for Windows 7, Vista, XP and 2000. The entry-level versions also offer hundreds of components for creating user interfaces, touch-enablement, grids, Office-style ribbon controls and other Windows controls; more than 120 Internet protocols and Internet standards; and IDE Insight, the fastest way to find and execute commands with one-click. Both versions are available in English, French, German and Japanese.

Once this commercial threshold is crossed, or whenever users want enhanced database connectivity or multi-tier development, users should upgrade their licenses to Delphi or C++Builder Professional, Enterprise or Architect editions.

Pricing and Availability

C++Builder and Delphi Starter editions are now available for $ 199 each. Users of older Turbo Edition products or any competing IDE or application development tool can upgrade to C++Builder or Delphi Starter for $ 149 each. Users with Starter edition licenses are entitled to a $ 100 discount on upgrades to higher editions.

The light tower is fully adjustable from 12-30ft in height, able to tilt up/down and can rotate ~358 degrees. The solid-state LED flood lights provide a tremendous amount of bright white light, minimize power requirements, provide instant-on/off without flickering, are extremely reliable, vibration and shatter resistant, and designed to provide up to 5x longer run time between bulb changes than metal halide lights. The maximum power point tracking solar/light control module optimizes solar gain and protects the system. The lights can be turned on/off automatically from a timer, at user-programmable time intervals or manually on-demand. The optional remote monitoring/control/security system will periodically alert a smart phone and/or computer(s) of each solar light tower?s system status. The system is on a portable trailer customized for maximum functionality and convenience and can be easily towed to its destination.
